A CB radio walkie talkie allows people to communicate with each other over radio waves. Originally, they were used by truckers and small businesses. In the 1960s, advances in solid-state electronics made CB radios more affordable and portable. They were subsequently used by the general public. As the CB radio service evolved, so did the slang language used by its users.
A CB radio allows you to communicate with anyone who is using the same CB channel. This is a great benefit for truckers because it provides them with instant access to other road users. Furthermore, using a CB radio eliminates the need to pair up separate walkie talkies.
The FCC sets specific specifications for CB radios. In the past, it was necessary to obtain a license in order to operate one. However, this is no longer required in most places. However, different states have different regulations regarding the use of CB radios. For example, certain states have laws prohibiting minors from using them. Other states allow anybody to use them on their own risk.
A CB radio can transmit up to 20 miles. A walkie talkie, on the other hand, only has a range of two miles. The two devices cannot be used together because they use different frequencies.
